My Personal Interpretation of this Piece

This image appeared intuitively on the paper. I believe the work was divinely guided and carries a message from the Universe. The figure sitting on the huge lotus leaf reminds me of a meditating Buddha, but since I didn’t follow any iconographic rules on how to represent a Buddha, I called the piece ‘Reflections of a Buddha at Night’. The figure is quite serene and centered. The colors green and pink symbolize love. They are known as the colors of the heart chakra. Green also symbolizes regeneration. The night is silent but so much is going on. Purple is the color of the crown chakra and stands for spirituality. I feel the piece also carries the energy of night magic, also represented by the owl, the bright stars and the full moon. The lotus of course stands for spiritual growth. The blooms are closed and are preparing to open to receive the light from the Universe at dawn. I believe the piece symbolizes hope for a new day. I feel it brings the viewer peace, rest, harmony and healing.

Mijn Persoonlijke Interpretatie van dit Kunstwerk

Deze afbeelding verscheen intuïtief op het papier. Ik geloof dat het werk goddelijk geleid werd en dat het een boodschap van het Universum in zich draagt. De figuur op een enorm lotusblad gezeten, doet me denken aan een mediterende Boeddha, maar omdat ik geen iconografische regels heb gevolgd, die voorschrijven hoe een Boeddha voor te stellen, heb ik haar ‘Weerspiegelingen van een Boeddha in de Nacht’ genoemd. De figuur is heel sereen en gecentreerd. De kleuren groen en roze symboliseren liefde. Ze zijn ook gekend als de kleuren van de hart chakra. Groen symboliseert ook regeneratie. De nacht is stil maar er gebeurt zoveel. Purper is de kleur van de kruin chakra en staat voor spiritualiteit. Ik heb het gevoel dat het schilderij ook de energie van nachtmagie in zich draagt, ook voorgesteld door de uil, de heldere sterren en de volle maan. De lotus staat natuurlijk voor spirituele groei. De bloemen zijn gesloten maar maken zich klaar om open te gaan en het licht van het Universum te ontvangen bij zonsopgang. Ik geloof dat dit werk de hoop voor een nieuwe dag symboliseert. Ik heb het gevoel dat het de kijker vrede, rust, harmonie en heling brengt.
